Directional microelectrode sEEG, and what the ring comparison cannot settle
A 64-channel directional depth array detected kainate-induced seizures earlier and across more tissue than simulated ring contacts. The result is real, but the zone-level statistic gives the array sixteen looks where the ring gets one.

The array as parameter estimator, not just recorder
Biophysical neuron models fitted from a few minutes of extracellular recording predicted responses to unseen multi-electrode stimulation with 90.6 percent accuracy. The most useful number in the paper is one buried in an appendix about current shunting.

Weaving the electrode into the organoid: a funded bet
A BRAIN Initiative award proposes stacking sliced brain-region organoids and innervating them with tissue-like mesh electrodes for chronic recording and closed-loop stimulation. The hardware insight is sound, but the pivotal assumptions live in the biology, not the electrode.
